Vienna.

The gap year has officially commenced! Well, actually it started back in June. But, due to me running around like a headless chicken for the last few months, I had yet to announce the news! Now, my excitement may become rather apparent through my excessive use of exclamation marks. So you have two choices; either get on board with my rambling or go back to doing something uninteresting. An easy choice if you ask me.

So, what's my plan I hear you ask? Well, you have come to the right place. Over the next year, I am going to dedicate a section of my blog to sharing all the ins and outs of my traveling adventure. Hopefully, I will be able to take you 'with' me as I go on to explore somewhere new. So without further ado, let's begin with my first adventure. Vienna!

My boyfriend, Ollie, and I spent an incredible few days in the beautiful Austrian City of Vienna. I had been once before, but I was lucky enough to be the one who introduced Ollie to all that the city had to offer. From its music, art, palaces, and incredible scenery, no wonder why Vienna is referred to as one of Europe's most fascinating cities. Its mind-blowing architecture is most certainly one of its main selling points, with each little street containing so much charm and character.

We stayed with an old friend of my mum, Laura, and her incredible family in their stunning apartment located only a short walk away from the center. It was lovely knowing at the end of each day we had somewhere that felt so welcoming and homely to come back to.

Our days were jampacked! From the second we woke up to the minute we went to sleep. Vienna just had so much to offer. We saw and did as much as we could in the time we spent there. The fact that there were some elements left untouched only gives us the perfect excuse to return once again. There isn't a day that goes by where we don't think about the time there we spent together, it was pure bliss.

Here is a little breakdown of what we got up to on our mini-city break:

Day 1 - Brunnen von der Karlskirche, A walk around Stadtpark, An adventurous climb to the top of St. Stephen's Cathedral, Burggarten, and Cocktails!

Day 2 - A stroll around the Streets, Belvedere Palace, Schmetterlinghaus ('The Butterfly House'), A fancy dinner, and more cocktails!

Day 3 - More exploring, A taste in fine dining, Prater, Vietnamese food, Back to Burggarten, and Our last night.

Day 4 - Our last morning stroll, The water fountain, and The Airport.

I don't think I could ever do Vienna justice simply by describing it the way I have. But hopefully, I have made a good attempt in doing so. If you have the opportunity to travel to a new place, then you should jump on the opportunity to do so. There is an incredible element of wonder and excitement that comes with discovering somewhere new. Whether you go there alone, with friends, or with someone you love, it is worth it in its entirety.
